Cooper Doten is a Minneapolis-centered electric and upright bass player. He has played with many musical acts including Greycoats, The Jason Harms Quartet, Natalie Cromwell, Jessica Manning, and Candid Kid. He studied under bassist Bruce Balgaard (Sara Renner, Robert Robinson) for 2 years as well as Ian Allison (Jeremy Messersmith, Eric Hutchinson), and Erik Fratzke (Happy Apple). In 2014 he graduated from Bethel University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Classical Double Bass. Cooper uses a multi-faceted approach that integrates the various methods and teaching philosophies he has studied under.  Above all, it is his belief that a student must have a basis of technique and theory to build off of in order to reach the goal of musical exploration.
